All of these codes assume that you have pressed 'STO' on the standard handset, or chosen 'Service' on the executive one. Complete the command by pressing 'STO'. 'sys' is the base station code. 'handset' is a handset extension number, from 1--6. Values in brackets of the form (=x) are the default settings from my Diverse 1010 base station. I don't know what all of the options do. If you can help, let me know. If you try it and it breaks, don't blame me. It will tell you the current state, and dump you into command mode. At any point, press 5 to interrupt what the answering machine is saying. It'll either pause if a message is being played back, or return you to the 'idle' command mode. From command mode: 1 Skip back a message 2 Play messages 3 Skip forwards a message 6 Record In record mode: 2 Record a message as if it were a call from outside 7 Record a new outgoing message 9 Connect to the loudspeaker on the base station; 5 to cancel # help on recording 7 Play the current outgoing message 8 Toggle answering on/off 9 Choose mode In 'mode' mode: 1 Use outgoing message number one 2 Use outgoing message number two 3 Use advisory outgoing message (i.e. incoming calls are not recorded) # help * New message In 'new message' mode: 2 Play new messages * Mark current message as new # help 0 Delete message In 'delete' mode: 1 Delete current message 7 Delete current announcement # help # Status and help; announces current status, then gives help information. 5 to cancel. When recording a message, press 5 to end it. When recording an outgoing announcement, press 5 to end the announcement. You then get the opportunity to record a 'concluding announcement' which is played to the caller when they run out of time. Press 5 at the end of the concluding announcement. You can access the answering machine from the base station. The two-digit display shows the number of messages currently stored. The 'answer on/off' button allows you to switch answer mode on and off. Its internal red light shows the following: off answering off on answering on, no new messages flashing, equal on/off times answering machine being accessed remotely flashing, more off than on answering off, new messages waiting flashing, more on than off answering on, new messages waiting To play new messages, press Play. To play all messages, hold down Play for one second. At the end of each message the machine may say 'pause'; press 'Skip -->' to play the next message. To delete a message once you've heard it, press Delete; it will ask you to press 'Skip <--' to confirm. The Mode button allows you to choose the answering mode, i.e. the particular outgoing message that will be sent. Press the Mode button repeatedly until the display shows 'A1', 'A2' or 'Ao' for message 1, 2, or the advisory message respectively. When the advisory message is selected, no incoming messages will be stored. To play back the current outgoing message, press Mode then Play. To delete the current outgoing message, press Mode then hold down Delete. It's possible to record messages at the base station, but whenever it needs to get audio input it has to ring the handsets. I don't advise it.
